WHAT WE BELIEVE AT NCC

We don't have all the answers. And that's okay.

We're imperfect people doing our best to follow Jesus, love our neighbors, and keep learning along the way. We believe there's always more to discover, and that asking questions, listening to one another, and making room for different perspectives are all part of growing together.

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

 - John 13:34–35 (NIV)

What makes us who we are

At New Creation Church, we look to Jesus and His teachings to guide how we live, how we treat others, and how we show up for our community. Loving our neighbors is at the heart of that, not just when it's easy or when we agree with them, but especially when it asks something of us.

We take Scripture seriously, which means we're willing to spend time with it. We explore the history, context, and meaning behind what we read, ask questions, and have conversations that don't always end with a neat answer. Sometimes those are the hardest conversations, and we believe they're worth having.

We also recognize that we're human. We're imperfect, we make mistakes, and we have plenty left to learn. We don't believe Scripture should be used as a weapon against others or that our understanding of God gives us the right to judge someone else's worth. We'd rather spend our time trying to live out what Jesus taught us: loving people, caring for those who need help, and being willing to show up when it matters.

01

Embracing Community

We believe there's something valuable about doing life alongside people whose experiences, perspectives, and beliefs may be different from our own. At New Creation, we call this harmonious dissonance. We don't have to agree on everything to build meaningful friendships, care for one another, and belong to the same community.

02

Questioning Faith

There's always more to discover, and we genuinely enjoy exploring the questions that come up along the way. Some lead to fascinating conversations, others challenge what we thought we knew, and plenty leave us with more questions than answers. We believe there's value in that process, especially when we're learning together.

03

Loving Jesus

Jesus is at the center of what we believe. Through His life and teachings, we come to know God and better understand what it means to love others. We seek to follow His example in our relationships, our decisions, and the way we move through the world.

04

Living Intentionally

We want what we believe to make a difference beyond Sunday mornings. That means paying attention to the needs around us, caring for our neighbors, and finding practical ways to help wherever we can. Sometimes that's through organized service projects, and sometimes it's simply showing up for someone who needs us.

A note on our roots

Our roots are Presbyterian, and we're glad to explain that more if you're curious. But the denomination isn't a barrier, and it's not the point. We hold our theology with open hands and open doors. Whatever your denominational background, or if you've never had one, you'll fit right in.

Still have questions?

Good. Bring them. That's kind of our thing.

Whether you're curious about what we believe, wondering what a Sunday looks like, or just want to get to know us a little better, we'd love to hear from you. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting a conversation, and you're always welcome to come see what New Creation is all about.
