ABOUT NEW CREATION CHURCH
A small church built on real belonging.
We’re glad you found us. Whether you’re looking for a new church home, finding your way back after some time away, or just looking for a place where you and your family fit, there’s room for you here.

How we got started
New Creation Church began in 2011 in Keith and Amy Gunter’s living room. They had recently moved to Hendersonville from Marietta, Georgia, with a sense that God was calling them to plant something new here: a church for people who weren’t so sure church was for them.
It started simply, with a few people gathered around a coffee table, sharing life and figuring out faith together.
We’ve grown since then, from a living room to our storefront space on Avondale Road, but a lot of what made those early gatherings feel like home hasn’t changed. We’d still rather know you than impress you. We’re still small enough that people know each other’s names. And we still believe church is much more about the people gathered together than the building they gather in.
“Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you.”
— Romans 15:7

The kind of church we’re building
More than a decade after those first gatherings in Keith and Amy’s living room, a lot has changed. We have a church home now, more people around the table, ministries for kids and teenagers, traditions we look forward to every year, and plenty of stories that have become part of New Creation along the way.
But we’ve never wanted to become a place where growing means people get lost in the crowd. We like knowing each other’s names. We like that kids grow up surrounded by adults who know them. We like lingering over coffee, showing up when someone needs help, serving together, and making room for new people to become part of things.
New Creation is still becoming what God is calling it to be, and we think that’s a good thing. We’re learning, growing, asking questions, and doing our best to follow Jesus together.
We're part of the Presbyterian Church (USA)
New Creation is part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), but you don’t need to be Presbyterian, or even know what being Presbyterian means, to belong here.
Our Presbyterian roots shape how we approach Scripture, leave room for questions, and live out our faith. We take the Bible seriously and spend time exploring its history, context, and meaning together. We also believe faith extends beyond Sunday morning, which is why serving and caring for our neighbors has always been an important part of New Creation.
