HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' FALL BIBLE STUDY
THE GOSPEL OF JOHN
SAVORING THE PEACE OF JESUS
IN A CHAOTIC WORLD
DAY 7
Monday, September 23
Scripture: John 4:43-5:15
Book Pages: 46-50

Main Idea: Identifying how our backstories impact our beliefs allows us to savor Jesus more authentically.

Read John 4:43-54
•Describe the encounter Jesus had in this section and what his response was.
•This man's faith started with a crisis belief. Similarly, many Galatians craved amazement, wanting a Savior who would heal them and end their oppression. Jesus was more than a circumstantial fix, however, and called them to dedication. What divine intervention are you looking for? In your life right now, what does it look like to trust God with His answer?

Read John 5:1-9a
•Describe the scene that unfolds. What does the lame man claim is inhibiting his healing? What does Jesus tell him?
•What needs healing in your life? Is there anything inhibiting your healing?

Read John 5:9b-16
•Explain what upset the Jewish leaders. Then, end today's study by reflecting on how your own backstory impacts your beliefs. Does your personality impact your beliefs? Your family? Your past? Media and culture?
