The Simplicity of Christmas
By Autumn Gunter
“For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world with simplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you.” 2 Corinthians 1:12
During Christmas time, life gets busy with buying gifts, decorating, baking, and many more traditions. Every year, we so easily get caught up in the rush of the holiday season. What if this year, you challenged yourself to do Christmas a little differently?
The Christmas season can be a time to savor the simple, beautiful moments. The simplicity of Christmas can be found in noticing and appreciating the little things of the holiday season: the faces of people around you, the meal on the table, and the feeling behind a gift.
All of these moments come from God, who sent His one and only Son to this earth in a simple fashion. Jesus was born in a simple barn in a simple town with a simple family. Enjoy the simplicity of this Holiday season.
Reflection Questions:
•Where can you notice and appreciate the little things around you?
•How can you add simplicity to your busy holiday schedule?
